What are teflon lips Teflon lips are strips of teflon that have been specially machined to fit professional carpet cleaning wands. They offer the same benefits as full size glides but at a fraction of the price and unlike other glides the teflon lips are a universal fit so they can be used where glides dont fit. What do they do? There are 3 main benefits of fitting teflon lips to your wand; 1) Teflon lips reduce user fatigue and back strain. The teflon reduces friction between the wand and carpet when cleaning, this allows the wand to move more easily over the carpet with less effort. 2) Teflon lips speed up cleaning. The reduced friction allows the wand to move more quickly over the surface of the carpet resulting in faster cleaning. Figures show that users can clean upto 60% faster with teflon lips. 3) Teflon lips promote better water extraction by increasing cfm air flow at the wand/carpet interface. This also results in better soil extraction and quicker carpet drying times. Can i use them with my wand Teflon lips are designed to fit all 12 inch standard wands, however because some wands are just short of 12 inches you may need to trim the length of the lips in some cases. The lips can be easily trimmed with any sharp carpet knife. Are there any disadvantages There are no disadvantages to using teflon lips, however it is recommended that you pre-vac carpets before cleaning them to prevent the wand from clogging up. If you find your wand has clogged up use a blunt butter knife to clean the opening. What is the difference between Magic Lips and Ultra Lips The Magic Lips are designed for use on wands with an opening of 10mm or more. If your wand has an opening of less than 10mm we recommend using a single Magic Lip fitted to the inside edge of your wand or using Ultra Lips instead. The Ultra Lips have a smaller diameter than the Magic Lips and are designed to fit wands with openings as small as 6mm. The Ultra Lip has one edge machined thinner this allows two Ultra Lips to be installed on most wands The Ultra Lips can be used in pairs or as singles.
