Ever thought about joining a cleaners association? We take a look at what the SCSF have to offer.
There are many associations in the UK who provide support and advice for cleaners but membership is often through subscription or follows some kind of training course and exam, this can be costly and time consuming particularly for new cleaners as both time and money are often in short supply. There is however, a cleaners association that is breaking with tradition and is currently offering free membership, without the hassles of attending lengthy training courses.

The SCSF is relatively new and was set up by a number of cleaners following a discussion on the cleanitup.co.uk forum. The SCSF's primary aim is to create a network of small reputable cleaning companies who can refer work to each other when necessary. The SCSF is also in negotiations with suppliers and manufacturers in an attempt to secure discounts on cleaning products for its members, but it doesn't stop there. There is also a SCSF website and forum where members can exchange information or just chat about things they like or dislike. The only conditions the SCSF currently impose on members is the ability to provide 3 checkable references, full public liability insurance and registration on the cleanitup.co.uk forum, all which are easily attainable for any reputable cleaner.

New cleaners should consider joining a cleaners association in order to network with other cleaners to make contacts and fast track their learning. Building contacts and gaining knowledge are vital in this industry for building a successful cleaning business.
